Mulled Wine

Making mulled wine in the cold months is lovely.
Its so spicy and warm.
Here is my recipe, I make it a little different every time. Change and add to it as you wish:
  • 1 bottle Red Wine
  • 75g brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 star anise
  • 2cm fresh ginger
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 big proper orange
  • A few whole cloves (about a tablespoon of them)
  • 1 bayleaf
  •
    1. Cut up the orange into slices or chunks or just quarter it.
    2. Slice up the ginger in the same manner.
    3. Stick the cloves into the skin of the orange to make sure they aren't floating about the wine and getting into the mouthfuls.
    4.  Pour wine into a medium pot. Add all the ingredients and gently heat until steam begins to rise. (don't boil it or the alcohol will diminish)
    5. Serve in big mugs. Feel free to add Sloe Gin to your mug of mulled wine. I sometimes like to put a bit of brandy in.

The Amazing Canal: mark II

The canal is indeed amazing.
I mentioned this before after discovering a little boat selling food and drinks just at Lower Gilmore Bank.
Well, we eventually got some food from the canal boat. It is called Basin Bites. It was good and cheep. We got hotdogs. Its kind of like a burger van, but its a boat. Amazing.
Its got some healthier things like fresh made smoothies and wraps and stuff. We got a smoothie too, it was tasty, you might even say it was amazing.

Look at that menu, its so fiery.

okay see you later

The Amazing Canal

Erin and I were walking along the canal today, and we saw this canal boat with its windows open and little ledges at the window.
Turns out it is a little boat-kitchen selling food and drinks.
I love the canal, it is amazing.
We wanted to get something from the canal-boat-kitchen boat. But we didn't get anything cos of we'd had our lunch already ken. But we went and spoke to the lady, she was all like 'we are open from 7am every day.' and i was all like 'no way, how long you been here.' and she was all like 'this is our third week.' and I was all like 'we'll come back another day when we havn't already eaten lunch.' and she was like 'okay bye' and I was like 'bye' and Erin was like 'bye' too.

Okay.
